Soccer

The 5-and-Under Soccer Season has come and gone (at least the fall portion- they a few more weeks of games in the spring). Clay coached Sam's team- the Tupelo T-Rex. The games were hysterical- six little boys all fighting each other for the ball. Even their own teammates. Lots of meltdowns and distractions and 'Is it snack time yet?'s. Sam had fun but the schedule was a little intense- games almost every Tuesday and Thursday night. Too much for a barely 5-year-old.

Honestly, the first couple of weeks I really regretted signing him and Clay up for it. They were both so tired and frustrated with each other. And Sam had to learn a lot about being a good sport and not falling out when somebody took the ball from him or he missed a goal. Ha, but when he did score a goal, you would've thought he'd won the Super Bowl. But we stuck with it, and by the end of the season, he had learned how to play with a (mostly) gracious attitude and follow Coach Daddy's instructions.

Most of my pictures from the actual season got erased from my phone but here is one from the last game. The boys are lining up for their 'good-game/high-five' ritual.
